I chose MIZZOU as one of my colleges because I heard from a friend that this college was a great school if you wanted
to become a veterinarian. Because I have a heart for children and a passion for animals, I would love to become either
a pediatrician or veterinarian. MIZZOU would be a great school for either of these choices because it is known as
the college of medicine and veterinary medicine. I saw that the University of Missouri-Columbia also has a
reputation of excellence in teaching and reseach.
ACTIVITIES

The activities that MIZZOU offers seem rather interesting and the students have plenty to choose from. When I go
to college, I am interested in joining a sorority. My aunt would like for me to be a part of the AKA as she, but the
sorority Delta Gamma is catching my eye has plentiful activities and fundraisers. They appear to be well-together
and close-related.
I like to watch football so the fact that they have a football team is great. I've heard good things about MIZZOU and
their football team.

HISTORY
Veterinary medicine at the University of Missouri began in 1884. It progressed through five stages — a course
in veterinary science, a department of veterinary science, a school of veterinary medicine in the division of agricultural
sciences, a school of veterinary medicine as a separate division, and finally, a College of Veterinary Medicine.
In early years, staff veterinarians taught courses to medical and agricultural students, conducted research on
tick fever, and investigated livestock disease throughout the state.
